omposer and North American conductor. Throughout his long career in the United States music business we have to highlight that he conducted the great Victor orchestra in its best period.

Furthermore, he led other important aggregations and was one of the first in writing scores for motion pictures in the beginnings of sound movies. Among them there is The Divine Lady of 1928.

To the latter belongs “Lady Divine”, its theme song which translated into Spanish by Enrique Cadícamo, Carlos Gardel recorded as “La divina dama”.

Shilkret was born in New York on December 25, 1889 and there he passed away on February 18, 1982.
