e was from the province and when he moved to the big city he became friend of El Cachafaz’s and of the guitarist Domingo Salerno’s, the author of the famous tango “Marianito”, with whom he began to frequent dancehalls and cafés in the mid-second decade of the twentieth century. By being sideman of musicians like Antonio Scatasso (he was in his orchestra at the Apolo Theater), José Guillermo Basadoni, Pedro Maffia, Miguel Orlando, Domingo Julio Vivas, Fidel Del Negro and many, many others more, made him appear in many orchestras at the downtown and suburban tango cafés, nearly all the radios, theaters, cabarets and tours.

His first composition is not remembered but good artists committed to wax his tangos “Se casa Rosina”, “Recordarás”, “A rienda suelta”, “Mal rumbeada”; his cueca “Canto a los héroes”.

Carlos Gardel, who recorded his shimmy “Sonrisas” with lyrics by Eugenio Cárdenas, was also one of his good friends.

González was born in Rauch (Province of Buenos Aires) on August 13, 1896 and died in Castelar (Province of Buenos Aires) on March 21, 1958 when he committed suicide while he was playing a tango on piano.
