ruguayan amateur lyricist. There is no doubt that tango, at its best time, attracted a lot of well-to-do people in spite of the opposition of our aristocracy. We can mention many names that not only encouraged it but also made tango, the case of this aficionado is repeated in many others.

He is author of the lyrics of the very well-known “No te quiero más”, with music by Juan Baüer (Firpito), which Carlos Gardel recorded, and also of others which he gave as a gift or, simply, he did not release. As he was not completely devoted to the profession and had withdrawn from that milieu he relinquished his rights corresponding to that tango to its composer.

Even though he did not have a close relationship, he knew Gardel from the time of his early appearances with Razzano in his hometown.

In his family there was an interest for art: Chichita Estapé was an outstanding concert piano player.

Estapé was born in Montevideo on September 2, 1899 and there he died on November 13, 1957.
