e learnt to play guitar with Esteban Capot, Carlos Gardel’s foster brother. At a very young age he was linked to the show business milieu but, despite he had joined a great number of orchestras and that he was a worthy instrumentalist, he did not stand out in our popular music.

Like in the case of many others of his time, there was no local in which tango was played that he had not known or been there as well as radio stations or some theaters. With the passing of time he found out he had appeared in almost all of them.

Nor did he stand out as composer although several of his pieces were performed and recorded by the best known artists. But his tango “Calor de hogar”, with lyrics by Jesús Fernández Blanco, was recorded by Carlos Gardel and lasts through time. Others: “Balcón azul”, “Rosas porteñas” (zamba), “Sin rumbo fijo” (waltz), “La noviecita” (waltz).

He came to know the Gardel-Razzano duo in their widely acclaimed period at the Café de los Angelitos when he was beginning to appear in the milieu.

Carrere was born in Bolívar (province of Buenos Aires) on September 19, 1901 and passed away in El Palomar (province of Buenos Aires) on August 11, 1964.
