He came to know the great Carlos Gardel around 1924 on Corrientes Street, close to Suipacha, introduced by Emilio Iribarne, an amateur pianist with a very good taste. The latter was quite a gentleman and, because he was a wealthy man, had taken up music as a hobby and was as well friend of the singer’s, of other artists and of the man of our article with whom he published several numbers in collaboration.

«When I was introduced to Gardel we talked about miscellaneous things but not about my songs.», said he for this compilation. However, Carlos recorded his “Adelante”, march, and “Maldita visión”, tango, with music by the above Iribarne and Manlio Francia, respectively.
