ilena is a renowned choreographer and tango dancer. With a solid training, she has taken part of the Grupo de Danza Contemporánea del Teatro San Martín of Buenos Aires from 1980 to 1986.

Milena arrived at tango to stamp on it a unique seal, based not only on interpretation but also on spreading popular dance through all her activities. She appeared at the Claudio Segovia’s and Héctor Orezzoli’s show Tango Argentino (1986-1989) and is co-founder of the Compañía Tango X 2 along with Miguel Ángel Zotto.

Among other things it is worthwhile to highlight her choreographies for outstanding shows like: Tango X 2 (1990), Perfumes de Tango (1993), Una Noche de Tango (1996), María de Buenos Aires for the Houston Grand Opera (1991), Romance de Barrio (1999), Choreographies for Pablo Ziegler’s Concerts in Stavanger, Norway, (2001), Choreographies for Centro Piazzolla Tango (2003), Sintonías (2008) for the Festival Rojas Danza in Buenos Aires.

Milena, not only is showcased on theater stages but also in documentaries like the video “Milena Baila el Tango con Ezequiel Farfaro”. In this work, the dancer shows the different stages of the creative process under the direction of Rodrigo Peiretti.

Other of her releases were Tramatango, a show premiered at the Teatro Presidente Alvear in Buenos Aires, with the art advisory services of Alejandro Cervera, and La Voz de tus Zapatos, in 2011, a choreography inspired on the story with the same name by Alberto Ruy Sánchez. It was choreographied and interpreted by Milena and David Palo, directed by Alejandro Cervera.

During her career she has received many awards, among them: the María Ruanova '91, the highest award to Argentine dance, the Trinidad Guevara '94, for the choreography of Perfumes de Tango and in 1998, the Premio Gino Tanni, an award for dancing in Italy.

Furthermore, she has had a remarkable performance as columnist in publications like El Tangauta, La Revista de Tango and she is Académica de Honor of the Academia Nacional del Tango of Argentina. Currently she gives classes and seminars in her country and abroad where her dancing and her words are synonyms of Tango Dance.
