It is not known if Angel Villoldo imagined he was going to be in Internet. Nor if Astor Piazzolla, even though his death is not so far removed (4 July 1992), thought of this cybernetic universe in expansion. From a computer, music is transmitted, a radio program can be heard or you can look for biographies, sheet music and images.
From the web page of Todo Tango this amazing world appears. Some privileged schools already have this education medium at their disposal, whose objective is to widespread the two-four beat, with the further possibility of weekly updating its information.
When entering www.todotango.com.ar you find a cheerful message: Get ready to enjoy tango. And afterwards, the latest news on the subject; in this case, sad: Tango is in mourning, on December 3 died Enrique Cadícamo. The news is generally auspicious.
The page has been declared of national interest. Included in the official web of the Chancery, besides being awarded with the Premio Mate.ar (Gold Prize) (1999), for the best site in the country, and Mate.ar (Silver Prize), for the tango and folklore category.
It is presented with a simple graphic and hypertextual image and is divided into six sections, where a selection can be evidenced. It has an academic council and qualified contributors.
The visitor is able to listen to music in complete versions, navigate through Internet and inquire after the life and artistic output of different creators. It recommends places where to look up, including two Argentine ones, three from the United States, a Canadian, a Spanish one, besides the Italian, the Dutch and the Japanese.
It encompasses all the stages of the genre, from the Guardia Vieja (Old Stream), in the first decades of the XX century, until the Vanguardia (Avant-garde), flowered after the 50s. It is dynamic and it aims at promoting poets, musicians, dancers and new interpreters. And its widespreading through press, television and any other communication medium.
It belongs to the Asociación de Coleccionistas Porteños de Tango, whose direction committee is headed by Néstor Carlos Pinsón, secretary Ricardo Alberto García Blaya; treasurer Julio Nudler; regular members, Juan Francisco Sáenz Valiente, Angel Oscar Bianchi, and deputy members.
It has a radio section which is broadcasted live on Saturdays, and its recording is available all the week, to be later replaced by the next program. The e-mail monthly visits (electronic mail) are over 4 thousand. Its founders are expecting even more, although they do not ignore the users belong to a way of life of reasonable level.
