Orchestras and sextet led by Nelson Alberti

his great bandoneon player, in 1961, joined the bandoneon section of the Orquesta Típica Jorge Cirino, which played a style similar to the one which made Juan D'Arienzo famous, and his tenure was until 1971. It was lined up by: Washington Picho Martínez, Nelson Alberti, Washington Silva, Artigas Anelo and Oscar Donato (bandoneons); Julio Massey, Milton Moirano, Julio Gómez (violins), in 1968 Omar Pino replaced Julio Massey; Juan Baccino and Jorge Baccino (father and son alternated the role of double bass player); Jorge Cirino (piano and leadership); Héctor Campos (vocalist, who would later be a successful impresario, owner of the most famous tango venue in Montevideo, La Cumparsita, located on Carlos Gardel Street in the Barrio Sur). Other singers: Jorge Villar, Alberto Laurino, Ricardo Duart and Roberto Bueno. Announcer: Juan Carlos Guevara.

Between 1971 and 1985 the Orquesta Típica Nelson Alberti included: (the late) Washington Picho Martínez, Nelson Alberti, Washington Silva, Artigas Anelo, Oscar Donato and Eduardo Fernández (bandoneons); Omar Pino, Leonardo Larrosa (both dead now), Luis Moliné and Julio Stunz (violins); Jorge Baccino and Alfredo Vizcuso (double bass); Víctor Serrato (piano); Alberto Laurino, Ricardo Duart and Roberto Bueno (singers); Announcer: José Ortiz.



The Orquesta Típica Cirino-Alberti was put together and its tenure was from 2002 to 2005: Nelson Alberti, Oscar Donato (now dead, was never replaced), Jorge Goyos, Juan A. Bengochea, Raúl Vallarino, since 2008 Luis Caneppa (bandoneons); Gabriel Giro, Andrés Aldado, replaced in 2005 by Wilson Risso, Líber Fernández and Lucio Scaffo (violins); Mario Bianco (double bass); Jorge Cirino (piano).

He again led the Orquesta Típica Nelson Alberti, between 2005 and 2014: Nelson Alberti, Jorge Goyos, Juan Ángel Bengochea and Luis Caneppa (bandoneons); Omar Pino, lead violin, joined the group in 2008 and died in August 2013, and was replaced by Eduardo Ruival, replaced in 2014 by Wilson Risso, Álvaro Umpiérrez, substituted for Líber Fernández in 2008 and Lucio Scaffo (violins); Mario Bianco, replaced in 2013 by Jorge Baccino (double bass); Rubén de Lapuente (piano)was from 2005 to 2008 when he was substituted for the Russian pianist Marina Nikolaeva; Alberto Laurino, replaced in 2008 by Víctor Salas, Ricardo Duart, Roberto Bueno, replaced in 2011 by Jorge Laguzzi, who was replaced in 2014 by Miguel Ángel Maidana (singers). Announcer: Óscar Fernández.

Nowadays, the Orquesta Típica Nelson Albert and the Sexteto Típico Rey del Compás, both under the leadership of maestro Alberti, are lined up as follows:
