La provinciana”: tango by José Muñiz, in Manuel Romero’s play “El Gran Premio Nacional” at the Teatro Politeama by the Compañía Vitone-Pomar on June 28, 1922.

“La taba de la vida”, tango by Félix Scolati Almeyda and Carlos R. De Paoli: sung by Olinda Bozán in the play with the same title and written by the same authors at the Teatro Nacional, performed by the Compañía Nacional de Sainetes, Comedias y Dramas led by Pascual Carcavallo, on September 26, 1929.

Loca”: sung by Eva Franco in Alberto Novión’s “El tango de la muerte” at the Teatro San Martín by the Compañía Arata-Simari-Franco on August 5, 1922.

Los burros”: sung by Ignacio Corsini in Enrique García Velloso’s “El mago de Palermo” at the Teatro Cómico by the Compañía Luis Arata on August 19, 1927.

“Los ojos de la grela”, written by Antonio Scatasso and José Eneas Riú: sung by Corsini in Enrique and Armando García Velloso’s “El club Pueyrredón” at the Teatro Apolo by the Compañía Arata-Morganti on September 15, 1926.

“Lunático al galope”, tango by Antonio Polito: The performer is not mentioned in the play with the same title at the Teatro Pueyrredón by the Compañía Nacional de Comedias y Sainetes led by José Briebba on September 6, 1926.

“Puentecito”, (do not mistake with the tango of the same name by José and Luis Servidio and Juan Caruso recorded by Carlos Gardel) tango by Francisco Canaro and Pascual Contursi: The singer is not mentioned in the Contursi’s play “Primavera rea” at the Teatro Apolo by the Compañía César Ratti on May 20, 1927.

“Puesta de sol [b]”, tango by Fausto Frontera and Enrique Cadícamo: sung by Domingo Conte in Enrique Cadícamo’s “Cinco cuentos ilustrados” at the Teatro Cabildo by the Compañía Juan Dardés on August 26, 1926.

“Quejas del suburbio [b]”, tango by Alberto Laporte and Otelo Gasparini (there is another tango with the same name by Antonio and Salvador Polito): sung by Azucena Maizani in “Abran cancha”, a play by Maroni, Eduardo Trongé and Rogelio Giudice at the Teatro San Martín by the José González Castillo’s revue company on February 28, 1925.

“Qué sabe la gente”, tango by Antonio Scatasso and Carlos R. De Paoli: performed by Ernesto Famá in De Paoli’s “Cinco por ocho igual cuarenta, te espero en la lechería” by the Compañía Marcelo Ruggero at the Teatro Smart on March 23, 1928.

Te doy lo que tengo”: sung by Azucena Maizani in “Del tango al Charleston”, play by Elías Alippi and Contursi, at the Teatro San Martín by the Alippi’s company on April 13, 1926.

Traiga otra caña”: sung by Ignacio Corsini in the Alberto Novión’s play “Que no lo sepa la vieja” at the Teatro Apolo by the Compañía Arata-Morganti on May 29, 1926.

Venus”: Played on piano by maestro Groppi in the play by Carlos Schaeffer Gallo “Las muchachas de antes no usaban melena” at the Teatro Smart by the Compañía Blanca Podestá on May 20, 1927.

Viejo ciego”: sung by Roberto Fugazot in “Patadas y serenatas en el barrio de las latas”, a play by Ivo Pelay, at the Teatro Nuevo by the Ivo Pelay’s company on November 6, 1926.

“Volvé a casa”, tango by Edgardo Donato and Francisco Bastardi: performed by Eva Franco in the play “Aquella noche en el Pigall” by Bastardi and José Franco at the Teatro de la Comedia by the Compañía José y Eva Franco on August 11, 1927.

Violetita”, tango by Hermes Peressini and Paco Ruiz París: sung by Mario Cullen in the play by the Sartori brothers “Cuadros cortos” at the Teatro Smart by the César Ratti’s company on June 4, 1926.

“Viva la Santa Federación”, tango by Francisco Canaro and Juan Andrés Caruso: sung by Maizani in the Enrique Rando’s play “Muchachas, apunten, fuego” at the Teatro Porteño by the Maizani’s company on April 1, 1927.

“Yo te quería”, tango by Sergio Allem and Luis Stalman: sung by Mercedes Simone in Franz Lehar’s “Clo Clo”, adapted by R. Cappenberg, at the Teatro Maipo by the Compañía de Vaudevils Musicales on October 29, 1927.

It turns out interesting to notice in this review that several of the tangos premiered at the theater did not reach the least commercial success. Some of them were not even recorded and, nowadays, they are a true rarity.
