portsman, he was aviator, motorcyclist and motorist in the early days of Argentine sports. Due to his initiative for several years in the carnival season the Ball of the Aviators was held at the Teatro Ópera backed by his friend Osvaldo Fresedo, aviator too.

Although his life was taken up by sports and despite his distinguished lineage he was able to approach popular song because he had a friendship with many artists of his time, among them his flying partner, the above great maestro Fresedo.

Of course, Carlos Gardel was also among those friends and went to his balls and recorded three of the few songs he wrote: “Hollín”, tango with music by the great pianist José María Rizzuti; “Oro y seda” with Fresedo’s music, and “Reyes del aire”, fox-trot with music by the incomparable José Bohr. Those recordings were possible thanks to his requests.

Canale was born in Buenos Aires on August 19, 1893 and there he passed away on July 31, 1926.
