He is the composer, with lyrics by Fritz Rotter, of the world famous song “Ich Küsse Ihre Hand Madame” that in Argentina Luis Rubistein translated into Spanish with the title “Yo beso vuestra mano señora”, on express request by Carlos Gardel for committing it to record. He brought it from Europe.

Three of the most popular compositions of this German maestro are “So Ein Mädel Vergisst Man Nicht”, “Vier Worte Möcht Ich Dir Nur Sagen” and “Wo Hast Du Nur Die Schönen Blauen Augen Her”.

Erwin was born in Bielitz (today Bielsko, Silesia, at that time at the Austro-Hungarian Empire) on October 31, 1896 and died at a prisoners-of-war camp in France on May 15, 1943.
