These presents were sent by the Secretary of Culture of the Presidency of the Nation to evaluate what was requested by the Civil Association "Coleccionistas Porteños de Tango".

The Council of Directors of the Academia Nacional del Tango, at its meeting on the second day of the present month, proceeded to study such request and decided to inform that until a few years before, the patrimony of our popular art was never sufficiently protected by the law or other official regulations, in order to contribute to its conservation.

This official emptiness has been covered by the collectors who, throughout many years of researching and treasuring –and with their own funds-, have succeeded in recovering the rich patrimony of our popular art.

For all that the Academia Nacional del Tango, that appreciates and recognizes the collectors´ labor, strongly supports the request that the Coleccionistas Porteños de Tango Association made before that Secretaría de Cultura de la Nación (Secretary of Culture of the Nation).
